Proving Financial Capacity to Prequalify for a Tender
Proof of funds for tender prequalification is the evidence a bidder submits to show it can finance the contract: bank comfort letters, committed credit facilities, bank statements, audited accounts or parent support. Evaluators screen out bidders who cannot show capacity before they look at price or technical merit.
The evidence must come from regulated banks and match the tender's exact wording, amount and validity period.
Evidence by tender type
Why submissions get rejected
Wording mismatch.
The letter does not follow the tender's prescribed format, amount or beneficiary.
Wrong issuer.
The bank is not acceptable to the contracting authority, or the letter lacks verifiable signatories.
Expired validity.
The evidence lapses before award, or before the bid bond stage that often follows prequalification. See bid bonds for government tenders.
What Financely delivers
We review the tender's financial requirements, identify which evidence the authority accepts, and prepare the request package for your bank or a facility provider. Deliverables include a requirements matrix, a draft letter in the tender's wording, coordination with the issuing bank and a final compliance check before submission. See our proof of funds service, bank comfort letter service
and financial capability letters.
It suits contractors, EPCs, suppliers and consortia bidding on public or private tenders with a fixed submission deadline.
Meet the Financial Requirements Before the Deadline
Send us the tender reference, the required amount and the submission date. We will scope the work and send a fixed quote.
Usually a bank comfort or reference letter, a committed credit facility letter, recent bank statements or audited accounts, as specified in the tender documents.
Can a consortium partner's capacity count?
Often yes, if the tender allows joint ventures or parent support. Each partner's evidence must meet the stated format.
How long does it take to obtain the letter?
It depends on your bank and the evidence required, so start as soon as the tender is published.
General information only, not legal advice. Financely is an advisory and arranging firm, not a bank or broker-dealer. All evidence of financial capacity must reflect genuine funds or facilities and be issued by regulated institutions. Issuance is subject to bank approval, KYC and documentation, and no outcome or timeline is guaranteed.
