Letter of Credit Quotes: SBLCs And Documentary LCs
Request indicative quotes
for Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs) and Documentary Letters of Credit (Documentary LCs), including issuance requirements, collateral or funds positioning, timeline assumptions, and total economics.
Financely operates an institutional underwriting workflow for trade instruments. Our platform standardizes the submission, validates the commercial rationale, applies compliance gating, and routes eligible requests to issuing banks and regulated non-bank financial institutions for independent pricing and approval.
Eligible clients are post-revenue businesses and sponsors with identifiable ownership, credible counterparties, a documentable commercial purpose, and provable capacity to meet issuing requirements. We prioritize operating companies with meaningful scale. As a general reference point, we most commonly serve borrowers with EBITDA above USD 10M, with exceptions where the file quality and capacity are unequivocal.

Quoting Standards, Eligibility, And Deliverables
Underwriting principle:
a quote is only as credible as the underlying data. Instrument type, purpose, jurisdictions, counterparties, and capacity must be explicit. Ambiguity increases compliance friction and invalidates pricing assumptions.
What We Quote
- SBLCs:
payment, performance, advance payment, and financial standby formats, subject to provider policy.
- Documentary LCs:
import and export documentary credits under UCP 600, with presentation and document conditions defined.
- Core terms:
amount, currency, tenor, governing rules (ISP98 or UCP 600), issuance wording and delivery method.
- Economics:
issuance pricing, confirmation pricing where applicable, collateral or funds requirements, and third-party costs.

FAQ
Does Financely issue SBLCs or Documentary LCs?
No. Financely is not an issuing bank. We provide structuring support and underwriting-grade packaging, then route eligible requests to issuing providers that make independent decisions.
Is an indicative quote a commitment?
No. Indicative quotes are conditional. Formal approval is subject to full underwriting, verification, compliance screening, and definitive documentation by the issuing provider.
Do you support non-collateral or “leased” SBLC structures?
We only progress structures grounded in verifiable capacity and a legitimate underlying commercial purpose. Requests built on unverifiable capacity or unclear counterparties are screened out.
Which rule set applies, ISP98 or UCP 600?
SBLCs are most commonly structured under ISP98. Documentary LCs are most commonly structured under UCP 600. The rule set is confirmed in the quote based on the use case.
What drives quoting speed?
Completeness and clarity. Clear instrument terms, credible underlying documentation, and complete KYB/KYC reduce screening time and avoid rework.
What are common reasons for ineligibility?
Unclear purpose, restricted jurisdictions, incomplete ownership disclosure, inconsistent capacity, or counterparties that do not clear compliance screening.
